MODEL PORTFOLIOS


We are are often asked should I have to pay an agency to take me on their books?
The answer is No - it is against the law for an agency to charge a model for representation.

 However, to be a model you need a Model Portfolio, professional photographs of yourself. There is a myth that agencies will pay for these for you, they won't! They will either use an in-house photographer or contract a photographer, either way this can be expensive, we have heard of models paying up to £2,500 for eight photos, although £500 - £1000 is normal - WHY PAY SO MUCH - WITH US YOU DON'T HAVE TO! If you are suitable for modelling we will organise a full portfolio for ONLY £200 , often we submit models to the major agencies as well as guiding, managing and representing suitable talent.  So call us now on 020 3318 0962 to book your portfolio photo shoot!

As casting directors we work closely with a number directors and producers of a wide variety of production companies, for BBC TV dramas, independent films, photo shoots for brochure production, web commercial models and big brand models such as Triumph - we know what the marketplace is looking for and how models should be presenting themselves.

We can help you to create a more diverse and memorable photographic portfolio or even better a memorable website to make you stand out from the crowd and catch the eye of people in the industry we are best placed to help you launch your career.
 
We take the time to create a number of strong modelling looks for you, here at our studio just outside Cardiff by using ordinary props, different style backdrops including black and white vinyl runways, different settings and locations (weather permitting) to develop the portfolio you need to progress your career.

A professional model should have a wide enough range of portfolio photos to send quality professional photos to match every type of casting, so ideally you need an urban/edgy look, an alternative look, a vintage look, a romantic/feminine look, a evening look, a sexy/sensual/seductive look, swimwear, lingerie, and possibly a sports/dance look.
 
We will guide you in preparing some clothing, jewellery and shoes suitable for the package you have chosen. Can you bring along high heeled shoes, some dresses, jeans/trousers and t-shirts or tops, and suit (or smart casual outfit) and a range of swimwear and a range of lingerie. The more outfits you bring the more likely it will be to develop a number of good strong looks. A lot of girls bring a suitcase of choices to be sure they can pull off the right looks. During the day we will be taking headshots as well, we may use your other outfits for this but also please bring a block colour top.

To create 8 good looks usually requires bringing 10 - 12 outfits to us to pick the correct ones to create the right image for you. Please bring a robe for your comfort between indoor shoots and a warm jacket or coat for outdoor shoots.

At the shoot there will be a professional makeup artist and personal stylist,to make you up, style your hair and teach you tips and techniques as we go, they will teach you a number of personal styling and modelling techniques. (can you bring along your favourite makeup i.e. favourite lipstick and please bring false eyelashes for a more dramatic look.)
 
We will be taking 30 - 100 photos of each modelling look (so we may take up to 800 photos for the premium portfolio) to create several good strong photos of each modelling look, so interesting and diverse clothing and a variety of colours are needed. Anything else that you may feel works like a sexy jumper or a club/party outfit or something bright and colourful that'll make you stand out from the crowd!
 
As casting directors we know what the industry is looking for and so we will also be taking photos in studio and location to give you a diversity of looks, if you look through any magazine you’ll see that about ¾ of the photos are in settings rather than a studio so clients want to see how you look in different settings not just in a studio.
 
Our clients looking for models generally want to see photos that have not been digitally altered, so that they know this is what you really look like, so we will be working on shots that are good enough to show you off in the best possible light without digital enhancement using skilled makeup techniques and effective lighting.
 
Can you please bring a robe for your comfort between shoots.
 
The day will be relaxed so that you can relax into the shoot, remember to practice some poses if you wish but we will guide you and I will take care of your hair and makeup during the shoot.

There are multiple packages to choose from, firstly the premium portfolio which is the full hair, makeup and clothing looks required for a completely diverse portfolio of 8 looks, this is £200 for up to 800 photos, then there is the standard portfolio which is 6 hair, makeup and clothes looks for £150 for up to 600 photos, and finally there is the basic portfolio which is 4 hair, makeup and clothes looks for £100 for up to 400 photos.

A £50 deposit is payable by card to secure the photo shoot booking and the balance is payable by cash or card on the day of the photo shoot.

Note: Any card payments are subject to a 4% card charge.

A personal consultation to guide you towards the correct career path personally tailored to you.
Tips and techniques shared, including colour analysis and image consultancy on how to make the best of your features and wear the clothing best suited to you.
A Photo Shoot (Royalty Free photos) that you can personally use however you wish as they are yours. You cannot sell these photos without prior permission from ourselves.
A marketing consultation, which will teach you where to place possible work opportunities, where to find extra training required and where you can promote yourself effectively.
